Mansfield v Keyworth

Sunday 19th February 2012

1st Match

Good rugby by Keyworth kept the Mansfield side under constant pressure and a good passing move resulted in Henry making an early score for Keyworth which Liam converted.

Keyworth’s pack were putting lots of effort in the scrums and winning lots of ball for their team, this was backed up by some good strong tackles and it was becoming one way traffic on a sunny day on a dry pitch. Keyworth moved the ball well at times and this resulted in further tries for Keyworth with Tom, Liam 2, James Roberts and Sam all were converted by Liam. A last minute attack by Mansfield after Keyworth switched off was also converted.

Mansfield 7 – Keyworth 42

Mellish v Keyworth

2nd Match

Half time:- Mellish 0 - Keyworth 0

The second half began with lots of time spent on the halfway line this was a better start by Keyworth but they were unable to control the ball for long enough periods. Keyworth started to pass the ball better and Liam was unlucky when he charged down a Mellish clearance only for the ball to go dead. All the pressure Keyworth were now putting on Mellish finally brought dividends when in the final play of the day Liam makes yet another strong break to cross the line.
